Installing the Collector

The Collector is a small Windows app that runs on the PC you race on. It does two jobs:

  • Streams live telemetry from the iRacing SDK to your team during a race.
  • Syncs car setups — it downloads your team's active setups into your local iRacing setups folder so you're always running the right baseline.

It runs on Windows alongside iRacing.

Download and install

  1. Open your Profile (or the onboarding screen) in the web app.
  2. In the iRacing Collector card, click Download Collector. The latest Windows installer downloads directly.
  3. Run the installer and launch the Collector.

Pair the PC with your account

The first time it runs, the Collector needs to be authorized for your account. This is a quick browser approval, similar to authorizing a new device:

  1. The Collector opens a page in your browser at /link-collector.
  2. If you're not already signed in, log in with iRacing.
  3. The page shows which PC is asking for access (by the label the Collector reports). Review it and click Authorize.
  4. The browser confirms the PC is now authorized — you can close the tab and return to the Collector.

The pairing request stays open for about 10 minutes. If it expires before you approve it, just restart the Collector to get a fresh request. Click Cancel on the page to deny a request you don't recognise.

What happens after pairing

Once authorized, the Collector works on its own:

  • It knows which teams and races you belong to from a snapshot taken when you approved it — there's nothing to configure per race.
  • It keeps your iRacing setups folder stocked with the active setup for each of your races, so old versions don't pile up.
  • During a race it streams live telemetry, which your team can watch from the race's telemetry view.

Security notes

  • Authorizing a PC only ever uses a one-time browser approval — the Collector never sees your iRacing password.
  • The access it's granted is tied to that specific PC. If you stop using a machine, you don't need to keep the Collector installed on it.
